International Freight Forwarding Company in Queens, NY is seeking a Direct Hire Export Coordinator (Air/Ocean)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Handle all aspects of export operations, including arranging bookings with transport providers and ocean/air
carriers, filing required documents, and providing full customer service for each shipment.
* Process export documentation in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance to our procedures and
country requirements exercising personal judgement and discretion.
* Always utilize discretion and personal judgement to ship goods using the most efficient and cost-effective
route to increase margin on each shipment.
* Manage engaging vendors and suppliers, and work with procurement team on ocean and air cargo needs
* Authority to negotiate rates and make decisions pertaining to shipping vendors.
* Ensure product compliance, operating efficiency, with a specific focus on productivity, quality and
profitability.
* Oversee pick up on behalf of the client/ agent as required.
* Responsible for accurate completion of airway bills.
* Manage invoicing and collection of freight, agency and disbursements from clients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Minimum 4 years of Air or Ocean export experience.
* Minimum 4 years of freight forwarding experience.
* Working knowledge of EdiTrade/SAP/Microsoft Suite Programs is a plus
* Excellent communication & customer service skills.
* Accurate and detail oriented.
* Work well under pressure and ability to multitask.
* Able to work in a team environment and independently.
