Local Lancaster company seeking Maintenance Technician – Grade 2

- Rotating Shifts based on facility needs
- 7:00 am - 3:00 pm or 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
- Occasional Weekends
Job Overview
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the overall upkeep, troubleshooting, preventative care and repairs of our mechanical systems and other manufacturing equipment. Working under general supervision, this position will perform complex (journey-level) mechanical and electronic equipment repair, troubleshoot faults on automated manufacturing equipment, and provide technical and general guidance on equipment.
Key Responsibilities and Other Duties
- Possesses advanced knowledge working with automated manufacturing equipment and ensuring minimal downtime (troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining).
- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and perform adjustments as necessary.
- Analyze machine error messages and information gathered from equipment operators to properly diagnose equipment problems.
- Disassemble machinery and/or equipment to remove parts to make repairs.
- Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
- Observe and test equipment operations to diagnose malfunctions and stoppages using voltmeters and other testing devices.
- Operate repaired equipment to verify adequacy of repairs.
- Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
- Troubleshoot and repair machine electrical and controls malfunctions such as 3-phase motor replacements, photo eye adjustments, servos, ensure machine timing, circuit replacements, etc.
- Record material usage, input labor hours, and manage work orders using a CMMS.
- Demonstrates the ability to understand and adhere to safety programs, adhere to compliance standards, safety practices and procedures, and with federal, state, and local codes and requirements.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or Equivalent required.
- Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
- The ideal candidate would bring the following experiences and qualifications for this position:
- Working knowledge and troubleshooting skills in the following areas are preferred: PLC systems, electro/mechanical machinery, safety devices, electro-mechanical troubleshooting/repair, equipment process development, and ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, 7am to 3pm or 3pm to 11pm, including weekends, as needed to support maintenance operations.
- Capable of working on elevated surfaces and comfortable working on elevated platforms.
- Proficient in office applications and comfortable communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to understand and adhere to safety programs, adhere to compliance standards, safety practices and procedures, and with federal, state, and local codes and requirements.
- Physical demands for this position include walking, pulling, lifting (up to 50lbs), grasping, hearing, kneeling, bending, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, and crawling.
- Mastered ability to use a tape measure, gathering measurements to 1/16”.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with automated manufacturing equipment, education may be used in lieu of experience.
- Technical and/or vocational training from an accredited technical school with coursework in industrial automation a plus but not required.
