Experienced Grant Writer (Part-Time)

Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian housing ministry, dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and creating affordable homeownership opportunities. This mission is dedicated to a process of mutual help and respect, involving community volunteers and those with housing needs working in partnership.

We are seeking an experienced part-timeGRANT WRITER candidate with proven results for this position. This is a part-time job (20 - 25 hours per week). Work times are flexible in the administrative office or remotely within NC between the hours of 8 am - 5 pm Monday through Friday.

DUTIES:

• Support Habitat for Humanity's ideals and mission through participation in and accomplishment of our organizational financial grant goals.
• Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for corporate, foundation, and civic grants.
• Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to write, prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to potential funders.
• Comply with all grant reporting as required by grant donors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a position-relevant field.
• At least 3 years of successful grant writing experience is required.
• Goal and team-oriented, with a positive attitude, good people skills with strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to effectively multi-task to meet deadlines with minimal supervision and work under pressure.
• Strong computer skills including established proficiency and independent operation of Microsoft Office Suite and proper internet research and use. Ability to quickly learn and utilize donor management software. Competency in graphic design, publication software, and social media applications is helpful.
