What You'll Do in This Position
Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) is seeking to hire Glovebox Engineers with significant machining and manufacturing experience.
This engineer will support the Savannah River Plutonium Processing Facility (SRPPF) and will be required to make frequent trips to various glovebox manufacturer locations. Expected travel requirements will be approximately 25% to 35%.

Bingham, ID
Ogden, UT
Westminster, CO
Lafayette, CO
Mauston, WI
Huntsville, AL
Stratham, NH
Primary Responsibilities will include:
• Be the onsite subject matter expert (SME) in glovebox design/operation.
• Review designs and/or drawings to ensure all codes/standards and specification requirements are met during manufacture.
• Make decisions on requested variations/deviations from the specifications by the vendor.
• Provide technical input on design changes required during manufacturing/assembly phases.
• Laisse with the DA team in a timely manner to address questions that need to be elevated.
• Communicating design information requests, problem identification and resolution, resource allocation, project management and design review comment resolution.
• Daily meeting attendance, participation in routine calls/meeting with SRNS personnel.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for questions/issues.
• Identification of project issues and their resolution as quickly as possible.
• Interface between SRNS and off-site entities to maintain timely and effective communications.
• Break down barriers that are hindering program success.
• Monitor activities and configuration of the structure, systems, and components to ensure adherence to the scope of work assigned.
• Enforce compliance with site engineering requirements.
• Provide integration and act as an information conduit to the SRNS Project Engineering Manager.
• Provide timely feedback and recommend solutions to management to improve or mitigate problems affecting execution and coordination between multiple sites.
Qualifications We Desire
Master or PhD degree in applicable science or engineering discipline
Has mastered technical field, is recognized as internal expert, has depth of knowledge to tackle any problem in field.
Contributes to advancing knowledge
Significant experience with glovebox design/operation
Self-motivated and familiar with glovebox standards
Depth of knowledge in gloveboxes to tackle any problem in field.
Detail-oriented for design review
