Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist to help grow our Boise, Idaho office.  The position will contribute to innovative and challenging projects, including the financial and technical evaluation, design, permitting, and construction stages.

  • Evaluate contaminated sites and develop remediation approaches, including feasibility studies, removal action work plans, and remediation design plans;
  • Implement remedial pilot tests and systems, including vendor selection, logistical coordination, permitting, and supervision of field teams;
  • Perform and oversee detailed water/wastewater process engineering design on a variety of project types and geographies;
  • Apply innovative treatment processes for mitigating polluting contaminants, including emerging contaminants;
  • Develop construction documents, including bid forms and technical specifications;
  • Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
  • Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
  • Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing;
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps and figures using GIS/Environmental Visualization Software (EVS) applications and database management;
  • Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
  • Review and manage written document production;
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties; and
  • Support business development; including bringing in new clients, obtaining repeat business from existing clients, and participating in proposal preparation.
  • At times, the job may also include fieldwork, involving multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction.

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, earth science (geology or hydrology), environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required) 
  • Advanced degree in geology or Environmental Engineering. (preferred) 
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E, P.G.) (preferred)

  • At least 5 years (7+ years preferred) of experience in an environmental consulting environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required) 
  • Demonstrated experience with remedial investigation, design, construction, operation, maintenance & optimization/closure. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • An outstanding track record for task management, client interaction, and technical leadership. (required)
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Experience with modeling and design software tools such as InfoWater, WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, GPS-X, and Biowin. (preferred)
  • Experience with AutoCAD and ArcGIS. (preferred)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
