K&A Engineering is a privately held, providing comprehensive consulting, engineering and design, program/project management, construction management, and support services to power utility and industrial clients. Due to Company growth, we are actively seeking an experienced Expeditor Materials Specialistto join our DG Program in Portland, Maine.  Supports Project Manager, Construction Manager,and Commission Manager sourcing materials, issuing purchase orders, tracking, expediting, and managing materials and equipment manufacturing process and delivery to storage  


  • Responsible for ordering and monitoring the delivery of long lead time material
  • Responsible for material analysis at the end of projects based on field audit and system allocations
  • Creates PR/POs and processes invoices for payments
  • Responsible for material cost by project from estimate to final allocation
  • Work cross-functionally with both client and internal teams to convey needs and ensure there is not a gap in supply for the program
  • Develop materials forecasts to ensure proper order timing and identify potential shortages
  • Works collaboratively with the Client, Project Managers, Construction Management, Cost Control as well as other teams within the program
  • Vendor Damage Claim Management

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Business or Equivalent Experience
  • Five (5) years of Procurement and/or Supply Chain Experience
  • Certificate in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred
  • Five (5) years of experience in Contract Management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel and Word
  • Must show proficiency in Microsoft Excel formulas, tables, and charts
  • Must have the ability to communicate accurately and clearly, both orally and in writing
  • Must have a pleasant manner; able to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Must have customer service oriented “can do” approach to work
  • Must have superior organizational skills and accuracy
  • Excellent problem-solving and people skills are required
  • SAP Experience Preferred
  • Experience in Utility Industry Preferred
  • Must be local or willing to relocate to the Portland, Maine area

 

 

 

The salary range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licenses and certifications; and other related skillsets. The disclosed range is an estimate and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
