The Opportunity
What you’ll do:
- Responsible for developing and executing target state strategy for first mortgage and/or home equity servicing experience and, in reaching that objective, leads key contributors to define, plan and deliver seamless, intuitive, efficient and compliant member facing tools
- Accountable for delivering servicing strategy, best-in-class member experience, and for improving departmental workflow and improving efficiency for the loan servicing experience
- Responsible for the implementation and operationalized adherence of procedures, practices, and policies in alignment with mortgage and/or HELOC servicing in initiatives as well as oversees the implementation of materials related to servicing in accordance with written risk and compliance policies and initiatives
- Coordinates and works effectively with Corporate Compliance, Legal, Business Controls, and all FSB end Enterprise partners to ensure first mortgage and/or home equity servicing regulatory compliance
- Stays abreast of regulatory compliance changes that impact internal and external business initiatives. Reports any potential concerns about non-compliance with regulatory requirements
- Trains and develops subordinate leaders in relevant technical, facilitation, compliance and regulatory, and industry related policies, procedures, and issues
- Builds and oversees a team of employees for assigned functional area through ongoing execution of recruiting, development, retention, coaching and support, performance management, and managerial activities
- Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures
What you have:
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree
Minimum Experience:
- 10 years of experience in first mortgage and/or HELOC servicing, managing various servicing areas within a financial services organization
- 4 years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams
- In-depth knowledge of current servicing environment and industry, with a strong mortgage and/or HELOC servicing regulatory/compliance background
- Extensive experience in mortgage and/or HELOC servicing, client/vendor relations, and oversight
- Experience leading teams and individuals through business transformation and change management efforts
- Experience managing work and influencing business outcomes in a matrix managed work environment
- Knowledge of federal laws, rules, and regulations to include: HMDA, TILA/REG Z, RESPA, FDPA, Reg B, SCRA
What sets you apart:
- Extensive Servicing experience for Performing and Non-Performing HELOC loans
- Extensive experience in Loss Mitigation - establishing programs and oversight including Single Point of Contact (to include collections, bankruptcy, and foreclosure experience)
- Extensive experience in mortgage servicing, client/vendor relations, and oversight
- Previous experience developing and implementing first mortgage servicing programs and processes (to include VA and FHA programs)
- Subject Matter Expert in Complaint Industry practices and Member Advocacy or Complaint Resolution compliance and regulatory standards
- Previous experience developing operational expectations to include establishing team performance measurements and monitoring/reporting of performance and deliverables.
- Direct experience working with federal and/or state regulators
- Experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, influencing decisions, and managing work to achieve strategic goals
- Extensive people leadership experience in building and managing high performing teams
What we offer:
Compensation:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $142,500 - 256,500.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.
