Executive Producer, Rising

Rising is a daily digital opinion program for the digital media juggernaut, The Hill. Rising is primarily distributed on YouTube and The Hill TV FAST streaming channel. The 90-minute morning show features commentary and analysis from all sides of the political spectrum. The program also features interviews with political and cultural newsmakers. Rising is produced five days a week and consists of ten segments per episode.
Responsibilities:

• The Executive Producer for this Washington-based opinion show must have a passion for political news, opinion commentary and an eye for trending and social headlines that resonate with our growing digital audience.
• The Executive Producer should have a deep understanding of the opinion eco-system on YouTube.
• The Executive Producer loves to collaborate with the hosts and team throughout the pitch process from ideation to execution.
• The Executive Producer will inspire a team of producers and editors to bring their best journalism to the program.
• The Executive Producer will manage schedules and vacation requests for staff.
• The Executive Producer oversees the visual look, tone, and style of the show.
• The Executive Producer collaborates with the bigger video leadership team on the implementation and execution of strategic goals.
• The Executive producer champions the inclusion of diverse voices to support our journalism.
• The Executive Producer will take smart risks while maintaining the integrity and standards of The Hill brand.

Qualifications:

• Expertise in YouTube centric programming.
• Comfortable incorporating SEO search and trends into YouTube headlines.
• Must have outstanding political news judgment, critical thinking skills, ability to create, share, and execute strategic plans.
• A background in script coaching and reviewing recommended.
• Line producing background required.
• 3 years of booking experience.
• Ability to be persistent yet diplomatic with hosts and team.

This is an in-office role based in Washington, DC.
