Job Summary/Description:

WNDU-TV, the NBC affiliate in South Bend, is seeking a morning show Executive Producer/Producer to oversee a talented team of journalists dedicated to producing the best product in the market. This position requires the EP to produce one hour of a two-hour block and oversee the production of both hours, supervising a second producer, live shot reporter and the anchors. The perfect candidate will possess prior TV management experience, a commitment to excellence and a desire to train and mentor less experienced team members. The Executive Producer will report directly to the Assistant News Director.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Manage and produce the morning news block, supervising a second producer
• Work closely with the Assistant News Director on creating unique shows with strong showcasing
• Review and approve scripts and rundowns to ensure accuracy and quality
• With the Assistant News Director, assist in scheduling assigned direct reports
• Work collaboratively with other managers and perform task as assigned by the News Director

Qualifications/Requirements:

• At least 2 to 4 years of newsroom leadership experience
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including holidays, mornings, evenings, and weekends on occasions as news warrants
• Experience successfully leading teams
• Knowledge of AP, ENPS, and Edius
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant-time-sensitive deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, communication, or related field a plus
• Travel: Rarely, less than 10%
• Work environment: Office, normally performed in a typical interior/office setting
• Physical Demands: Sedentary work, involves sitting most of the time; some lifting, bending and standing, etc.
