Job description

MidFirst Bank is seeking an experienced executive to lead and manage commercial deposit strategy, products, technology, and sales. With $36.6 billion in assets and significant operations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Texas, Oklahoma City-based MidFirst Bank is the largest privately owned bank in the country. The candidate will lead the bank's pursuit of deposit growth, development of new deposit products and technology, internal and external communication on deposits and Treasury Management products, and navigation of risk and regulatory requirements. The candidate can be based in any of MidFirst's core markets and will require travel throughout the MidFirst footprint.
Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead the bank's pursuit of Commercial deposits and fee income through the development and maintenance of sophisticated and up-to-date commercial deposit products, services, technology, and processes.
  • Working closely with market leadership, manage the bank's commercial and business deposit and fee income strategy.
  • Supervise a large staff in multiple markets responsible for the bank's Commercial Productsand Treasury Management Sales.
  • Facilitate communication about deposits and products between the commercial banking, Executive Leadership, operations, risk, and technology groups.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate financial, operational and regulatory risks including representing the commercial bank on fraud, compliance and BSA multi-discipline committees.
  • Manage credit risk inherent in commercial and Treasury Management products while balancing growth objectives.

Position Requirements:
The candidate must be an experienced banker with the unquestioned integrity, management experience, and interpersonal skills required to function successfully in a challenging executive role. The candidate should have a bachelor's degree with an emphasis in a business related field or MBA. The following characteristics are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability that are preferred:
  • 10+ years of relevant banking experience. Experience with Commercial Products is required. Sales leadership experience is preferred. Mid-sized or large bank experience preferred.
  • Ability to develop and provide business and strategic advice at an executive management level.
  • Ability to manage, develop, and motivate a large, diverse team and to work well with other business and support units.
  • Ability to manage critical vendor relationships around business services and products, including merchant services.
  • Experience in commercial payment and receivable technologies and knowledge of emerging trends.
  • Experience in business underwriting or lending desired to enable partnering with credit risk to appropriately manage credit-based business products and services, especially commercial and business credit card strategies and exposure.
  • Regulatory and compliance experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer proficient.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as necessary to the bank's markets.
  • Strong work ethic. Commitment to treating others well. Ability to make well-reasoned decisions.
  • Certified Treasury Professional or similar industry certification.
