PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The role of an Executive Housekeeper involves offering guidance and leadership to the Housekeeping department, aligning with the MGM Resorts brand standards. Additionally, this position holds responsibility for steering the Housekeeping department toward the accomplishment of operational and financial objectives. This includes overseeing team performance, staff scheduling and training, and upholding the department's commitment to guest service in accordance with MGM Resorts' standards, all aimed at ensuring elevated customer satisfaction and an exceptional guest experience.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for managing the department's guest service standards and initiatives, productivity standards, coaching the leadership team to optimize performance, and strategizing department wide solutions for guest experience issues.
- Provides input into the research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, standards, technology and processes to ensure competitive position and in anticipation of changing customer needs within the complex hospitality and gaming environment.
- Assumes the responsibilities and duties of Director Housekeeping/EVS during his/her absence and days off.
- Lead multiple levels of experienced leaders in implementation and sustainability of policies, operating procedures and directives as part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement; maintain a work environment that promotes client service, teamwork, performance feedback, individual recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction ensuring quality hiring, training, and succession planning processes that encompass the company’s diversity commitment.
- Responsible for leading significant improvement initiatives and processes to enhance performance for employees and leaders in the department.
A GREAT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, management, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Two (2) years of experience in the direction and management of employees in a similar hotel environment
- 3+ years of management experience in a major hotel/resort complex, preferred.
- Minimum one-year management experience in a Union (bargaining unit) property, desirable.
