Executive Director Of Business Intelligence And Strategic Data Management

The Executive Director of Business Intelligenceand Strategic Data Management oversees the development and ongoing evaluation of an institutional level, centralized data infrastructure that stores vital EVMS data in consistent and reliable formats for senior leadership accessibility. The Executive Director is responsible for leading the development of data governance processes and regularly monitoring process compliance by institutional stakeholders. The Executive Director will lead the elimination of institutional data silos and synergistically enhance the institution’s abilities to collect, store, extract, and report data in a centralized format. Additionally, the Executive Director will act as a data culture builder who collaborates with all institutional divisions breaking down barriers to data accuracy, reliability, and availability. The Executive Director will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of Strategic Data Management processes. The Executive Director will serve as a visionary and Strategic thought partner to senior leadership on advancements in the field of Business Intelligence, artificial intelligence, and laying a foundation for transforming data into actionable insights. The Executive Director will lead a growing Business Intelligence andData Management team under the direction of the Vice Dean for Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness and the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Leads the development and implementation of an institutional level, centralized data infrastructure.

Oversees the standardization of institutional data collection and reporting processes.

Ensures stakeholder compliance with established data governance processes and protocols.

Ensures consistent and accurate data reporting, both internal and external to the institution.

Leads Strategic Data utilization efforts among senior leadership and other institutional stakeholders.

Oversees the transformation of raw data into actionable insights.

Advises senior leadership on ideal metrics and calculation methods for assessing institutional performance.

Leads institutional data visualization efforts.

Leads institutional artificial intelligence governance and compliance efforts.

Oversees high-level strategic and tactical decisions for Business Intelligence tools and applications.

Ensures that the use of Business Intelligence applications enhances business decision making capabilities.

Manages comprehensive organizational strategies for data governance, design, implementation, integration and usage.

Manages Business Intelligence Office budget.

Provides oversight on Business Intelligence projects and initiatives.

Provides collaborative leadership to institutional stakeholders on the evaluation of key performance indicators.

MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Executive Director of Business Intelligenceand Strategic Data Management will supervise the Director of Business Intelligence and Data Analytics and a growing Business Intelligence andData Management team.

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or related field and 8 years of data-related (academic and/or institutional) experience at a higher education institution. Master’s degree preferred. Prior leadership experience in a higher education setting highly desired.
