This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Acts as a leader in the county-wide taskforce working to address the social determinants of health through collaboration and resource-sharing. Responsible for building relationship with internal and external stakeholders, visiting partner agencies, schedule resource sharing and evaluating outcomes. Act as liaison to committee(s) and advisory board(s) as needed. Note: This is a grant-funded position through December 2024, the future of the position will adapt as funding is available.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR:
  • Directs the activities (policy and program) of the branch, staff development and recognition.
  • Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, schools, and governmental entities, including Arizona Department of Housing, Department of Health Services and Arizona Department of Economic Security and Arizona State University.
  • Participate in local homeless coalition, learning best practices and ensuring YMCA program incorporates into program policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the hiring, training, and supervision of staff.
  • Oversees accurate and timely data reporting, required by Department of Housing and YMCA
  • Develops, implements, and manages the financial plan of the branch.
  • Directs strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch.
  • Develops, directs, and monitors high quality programs which support branch and association mission, goals, and strategies.
  • Develops, directs, and monitors high quality services for YMCA program participants.
  • Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment, managing risk through implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Directs branch marketing and communication efforts including that of character development.
  • Serves as a member of an Association Management Team and supports the overall objectives of the Association.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
  • Multi-Lingual candidates preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, education, behavioral health, recreation or equivalent preferred.
  • Five or more years of related experience in supervision, homeless services, fiscal management, and community program development.
  • Three or more years' experience in project management and data management.
  • Ability to direct the total operations through supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  • Experience working effectively with people, including diverse populations and those who have experienced both mental health challenges and substance abuse a plus.
  • Minimum Age of 21.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle; clear or acceptable Motor Vehicle Records that meet YMCA standards.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening.
  • YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
