Sunflower Bank, N.A. is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of Exception Items Processor! The Exception Items Processor is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of debits and credits which were reported as exceptions to the nightly update of the application file records. This position also ensures the timely balancing of assigned accounts and the accurate disposition of out of balance transactions within established guidelines. In addition, the Exception Items Processor communicates certain differences to others responsible for making clearing entries as well as monitoring to ensure clearing entries are timely made.
- Review on-line overdraft decision information daily, return times as directed by branches and complete on-line processing per written procedures.
- Process government reclamations upon receipt and complete within specified timeframe.
- Maintain review of official check signing authorities.
- Process forgeries upon receipt of affidavit and return funds to customer or return check, if possible.
- Generate the file to FISERV for collection letters and non-sufficient fund notices.
- Process all return deposited items and additional returns daily.
- Process quick collect items daily.
- Process all items on Posting Reject Journal daily.
- Process garnishments as received, mail cashier’s checks when order to pay is received.
- Balance all of the following accounts/entities daily, provide reconcilements on an as needed basis to Finance Department, research/resolve any and all differences and manage aged items per service level agreements and company policy. Provide any necessary reporting to retail and operations management.
- Review system generated ledger balance verification reports and out of balance GLS and research/resolve difference with application specialists or operations management.
- Process customer affidavits of unauthorized, remotely created checks and submit to Federal Reserve for credit.
- Review internal accounts on Fiserv, reconcilement system and resolve/research any exceptions daily (cashier’s checks, money order, pay card transit checks and CD interest checks).
- Ensure daily teller ending balance sheets are sent electronically from markets for storage.
- Assist in escheatment research.
- Prepare statistical information required by management.
- Participate in ongoing training.
Education/Experience Preferred:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess basic math aptitude and be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Post High School education and/or two years of work experience in an office environment preferred.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Must possess technical knowledge, proficiency and keyboarding skills
- Must work with minimal supervision and show initiative.
- Must be able to work flexible hours.
