Works under moderate supervision and requires an elevated skill level to independently perform recurring, routine, regularly scheduled assignments in a fast-paced atmosphere while prioritizing patient care needs. Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for cleaning and re-establishing a sanitary, safe, and clean surgical environment in all areas of surgical services and for patients ranging in age from newborn to 100+ years of age. Areas include:
Pre-op
Post-op
PACU
Operating rooms
Break and locker rooms - Ability to manage the schedule is critical for workflow to ensure a safe and efficient practice.
- Selects and applies appropriate cleaning/disinfecting procedures from established guidelines.
- Responsible for removing several varieties of waste from the facility.
- Works closely with surgery staff and is knowledgeable of MDRO's as it relates to cleaning

Must have a working knowledge of EVS and hospital policies and procedures, proper cleaning and disinfecting techniques and the uses of a variety of cleaning and disinfecting agents available in the EVS department. Required:
- High School Diploma
- Ability to communicate with the managers and director
- Follow written and oral instructions
- Work and cooperate with peers
- Maintain a good relationship with patients, visitors and other staff.
- Self-motivation to maintain checklists and ensure completion of duties on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis including scheduled and terminal cleaning
