Evidence Assistant

EVIDENCE ASSISTANT

To work with firm Investigator, Case Managers and Paralegals to summarize evidence to assist our client’s cases and boost claim value.

· Attend firm huddles every Monday morning at 8:00 am

· Attend mini huddles Tuesdays through Fridays at 8:00 am

· Complete review of all evidence in a case to push cases Pre-Lit 04 within 21 days

· Follow and maintain all firm policies and procedures.

· Reviewing evidence for key items such as alcohol issues, key witness identifications, scene evidence, etc. and providing a complete written summary, including but not limited to:

o Watching lapel video and updating written evidence summary with key evidence notations

o Reviewing police photos and updating written evidence summary with key evidence notations

o Listening to or reviewing the 911 audio or transcripts and updating written evidence summary with key evidence notations.

o Reviewing the file for mentions of evidence we may not have and coordinating with the New Client team to obtain what is missing.

· Manage and update all witness contact information in SmartAdvocate.

· Conflict checks when entering parties.

· Outline investigation in writing within the SmartAdvocate software

· Draft affidavits of witnesses, when requested.

· Review all social media on Property Damage Punitive cases

· Conduct telephonic interviews, when requested.

· Conveys confidence on the phone and in-person

· Strong active listening skills for witness statements.

· Intelligent analytical ability to determine key issues

· Strong writing skills to outline investigative work, when necessary.

· Comfortable and confident in securing appointments for witness statements.

· Organized, focused, and attentive.

· Resourceful in helping investigate and uncover root of legal issues.

· Professional attire and demeanor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
