A traditional German-style Christmas Market is coming near you in Seattle in November 2023! Set up at the Seattle Centre next to the Space Needle, the market will feature traditional European food and merchandise to spread Christmas Cheers.

The Seattle Christmas Market (SCM) will be supported by the Vancouver Christmas Market (VCM), an established brand that has welcomed over 2.5 million guests since 2010 in Downtown Vancouver, B.C.

Part Time Employment Opportunities – Brand Ambassadors & Mascots

As SCM will once again develop into the focal point of the holiday season in Seattle, we are looking for customer focused, detail-oriented and multi-tasking self-starters to join our team as Brand Ambassadors & Mascots. These positions require part-time availability and a commitment of 20 hours per week especially on weekends and/or afternoons. The team has two main positions, which are Mascot and Mascot supporter which are required to rotate during the event. The term for employment is from November 1st, 2023, to December 24th, 2023.

Role and Responsibilities

• Manage guest experience and create a fun, welcoming character experience
• Walk around downtown Seattle and promote the Seattle Christmas Market
• Be present at the Seattle Christmas Market for pictures
• Distribute SCM collateral
• Communicate with customers, especially kids in a good manner
• Act as a Market ambassador
• Wear and keep the costumes in good condition
• Support colleagues that wear the costumes
• Communicate any costume repair notes in a timely manner
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements and Selection Criteria

To be considered for a position, you must:

• Be willing to provide a criminal record check including vulnerable sector check
• Be willing to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Be able to wear heavy costumes for 2-3 hours
• Be willing to work outdoors in various climates
• Be willing to inform guests of unique products
• Have an outgoing, energetic, and friendly personality
• Have excellent customer service, time management and communication skills
• Have dedication and passion for Christmas festivities and events
• Be fluent in written and spoken English

Compensation, Incentives and Bonus

• $1600/month
• Tickets for SCM for friends and family
• Personal SCM Season Pass
