Event Staff | The Wool Factory

The Wool Factory is hiring hospitality driven individuals to join our growing event department. We provide Charlottesville with the first industrial, full in-house catering service, for parties ranging from 12 people to 450. Compensation is competitive and hours are flexible. We take pride in creating lasting connections through genuine initiative, collaboration, and interpersonal respect. No event experience necessary, but food service experience is preferred. Must be able to lift 40 pounds and utilize stairs on a regular basis.

Compensation: Starting @ $20/hr

Tips: Tips collected are distributed to all staff members working that specific event based on the team members number of hours worked, this includes back of house team members.Shift Meal/Drink - every event worked, team members are provided (1) meal and (1) shift drink at no cost to them.

Orientation:

In order to accept the position, you must be able to attend one of the two orientation sessions, taking place Saturday, March 16th and Tuesday, March 19th.

Position Descriptions:

Event Set Up and Breakdown- responsible for rearranging the furniture in the space to the specifications shared in the floorplan and documents provided. This includes, but is not limited to, moving furniture, including tables, chairs, benches, and mobile bars. Sanitizing tables, mopping floors, and cleaning the venue. As well as moving glassware, china, flatware, and other fragile items.

Event Bartender- As an Event Bartender you will be responsible for setting up alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a neat and timely manner, providing undeviating customer service while following all VA ABC laws, as well as being fully responsible for breaking down the main bar and mobile bars while adhering to our cleaning standards.

Event Server- As an Event Server you will be responsible for setting up all food service related to the event, providing undeviating customer service throughout the event, breaking down all service equipment, and thoroughly cleaning the space(s) utilized during the event.

Event Captain - Representative of The Wool Factory, and leader of the event team. These persons take full responsibility and initiative of the space, service, setting, timing and general client happiness. Understanding you may be pulled in many directions. Captains act as the “nucleus” for the team. Events with 50+ guests will also have an Event Manager. Captain(s) are the “right hand” in this case, and the two work together to ensure a successful event.

* All positions require the ability to stand for up to 10 hours.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
