We are hiring event staff for our wedding venue! We have three shifts for Event Staff at each of our weddings:

1. Morning Shift - 7:00am-12:00pm

2. Afternoon Shift - 1:00pm-6:00pm

3. Closing Shift - 8:00pm-2:00am

Candidates must be willing to work at least 2 of these 3 shifts. Friday and Saturday Availability Required, Sunday availability is a plus.

Event Staff Member

Summary

10 South Wedding Venue is part of BEDO Brands, a collection of brands that focuses on hospitality and the wedding industry, which also includes Mercantile Hall and Bon Bon Belle Bridal Boutique. We are a wedding and event space located in Janesville, Wisconsin and are excited to share our love for service, weddings, and hospitality with couples for years to come.

Responsibilities

10 South is hiring hard working, dedicated, and flexible employees to fill the role of Event Staff Member.

The Event Staff Members play an integral role in a couple’s wedding day. They are responsible for the setup of the space before the couple arrives—this happens during the “morning shift” listed below. Event Staff Members are then able to leave after this shift and are expected to return in the early afternoon for the “afternoon shift” where they assist the Event Manager with transitioning the space from a ceremony setup to a reception setup. Our final shift of the day is the "closing shift." The Event Staff Member is responsible for assisting the Closing Captain with tear down and clean up as the event comes to a close.

This position requires fantastic customer service skills as our Event Staff Members are present when our couples and their guests are present. This position also requires a sense of urgency and attention to detail—our guests are celebrating one of the biggest events of their lives; we are committed to being able to provide them with a beautiful setting and be able to do it quickly.

This position requires availability to work at least two of three shifts. Candidates should be willing to work at least two shifts on a given day. The shift details are as follows:

1. Morning Shift - 7:00am-12:00pm

2. Afternoon Shift - 1:00pm-6:00pm

3. Closing Shift - 8:00pm-2:00am

o Duties:

  • Greet and thank guests upon arrival
  • Set tables and chairs for events or tours
  • Hang additional lighting as required
  • Hang customer items as required
  • Set out linens and fold napkins
  • Restock bathroom and kitchen supplies
  • Clear out kitchen for caterers
  • Pack up guest items if required
  • Set ceremony chairs as directed by Event Manager
  • Set outdoor furniture (screens, tables, chairs, heaters)
  • Light candles
  • Greet and direct guests
  • Move ceremony chairs
  • Other preparation as delegated by Event Manger
  • At the end of the night, assist with putting away chairs, tables, and other furniture
  • Garbage removal

  • Ability to use an extended ladder and/or scissor lift.
  • Ability to lift/move various objects.
  • Ensure that all fire & safety codes are adhered to during set-up and followed by guests (training will be provided) and safety guidelines are followed throughout the event.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour
