Event Security Manager

Event Security Manager - Las Vegas, Nevada

The Event Security Manager (ESM) will be in the Las Vegas office. The ESM is responsible for managing security operations during special events such as conventions, concerts, festivals, sporting events, parades, and other large-scale gatherings throughout the Las Vegas Valley.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning and coordinating with event organizers and local law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of attendees, performers, and staff. Provide oversight of risk management, staffing and resource allocation, communication & collaboration, and Incident response.

Provide excellent customer service, and solve problems to effectively and optimally continue operations. Duties will include, but not be limited to, scheduling, training, and managing security officers. Uses technology in a meaningful way to monitor guard activities. Performs quality control checks and post inspections. Provides after-hour emergency response as required.

Conducts, supervises, and prepares reports relating to internal investigations of any losses or violations of regulations, policies, and procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Develop and implement security plans for special events, including threat assessments and security procedures.
• Identify potential security risks and develop risk management strategies to mitigate or address them.
• Determine staffing requirements and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and technology, to ensure adequate security coverage.
• Establish effective communication and collaboration with event organizers and local law enforcement agencies to ensure seamless coordination of security operations.
• Implement security policies and procedures specific to special events to protect the safety and security of attendees, performers, and staff.
• Coordinate with the executive management team to establish goals and objectives and communicate these objectives with the customer and employees.
• Ability to handle both common and crisis situations at the client site calmly and efficiently
• Excellent leadership and team-building skills.

• May perform other duties as assigned by Management.

• May be required to balance, sit, stand, reach, walk, climb stairs, kneel, crouch, lift (maximum 50 pounds), twist, grasp, talk, hear, and see using close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and depth perception.
• Constant ability to sit, stand stationary, and or walk for prolonged periods.
• Work environment may be outdoors during inclement weather and in extreme cold or hot weather.
• Will be exposed to slippery or uneven walking surfaces, dust, dirt, fumes, and odors.
• Ability to communicate effectively and coherently while initiating and responding to radio and/or telephone communications.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Must be presently eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred; must have high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Must obtain a valid PILB Guard Card
• Must obtain TAM Card and LVMPD Non-Gaming Card
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• 3-5 years of experience in a leadership/management role preferred
• Must possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and clients.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• Knowledge and experience working with commercial contracts
• Exceptional verbal, written, social, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work on a team or independently.
• Results-oriented professional.
• Works well in fast-paced environments.
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check, credit check, Motor Vehicle Record check, and drug screening.
