As a member of the leadership team, this individual is expected to devote the majority of his/her time to managing the performance and workload of the Department’s staff including making recommendations about hiring, termination and other employment decisions, train new department members, coach, counsel and evaluate performance of direct reports utilizing performance management processes as needed. Plan and execute employee engagement activities that foster a high performing culture, and focus on the development of employees to optimize their performance. Establish best practices for optimal work flows to maximize resources. Oversee and organize external and internal events that make an impact to a target audience, ensuring efficient, cost-effective execution and brand consistency. Develop event content, strategy, and creative aspects of production through collaboration with production and marketing teams. Oversee the guidance and mentoring of the events team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify and work cooperatively with Human Resources as necessary to resolve employee relations, complaints and other interpersonal communication issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Identify staff development needs and provide/coordinate necessary training and skill development for members of the Department
  • Create event proposals, including scoping and planning, and submit for review/approval
  • Communicate event recommendations with stakeholders for development of event from beginning to end
  • Build and maintaining portfolios of event properties, sponsors, vendors and hotel contacts
  • Lead creation sessions with team members and stakeholders for event innovation and development
  • Execute external and internal events, from start to finish, according to requirements
  • Work with marketing team to proactively request all event-supporting marketing tactics, ensuring on-time and on-budget production, deployment/distribution and receipt
  • Coordinate with sponsors, partners, clients, attendees, etc. as needed (pre-, during, and post-event) to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Assist with the resolution of any problems leading up to, and on, the day of an event
  • Act as an administrator by creating check requests, tracking estimates/invoices/payables, assembly and distribution of recaps, etc.
  • Oversee the filing and issuance of CE credits, as well as record maintenance, for CE-certified class attendees
  • Capture and share qualitative and quantitative event information to help with reporting, decision making, measurement and optimization
  • Propose and execute ideas to improve provided services and event quality
  • Perform site inspections, walk-throughs and project coordination (including set-up and tear down) on location (as needed)
  • Travel (by car or plane) may be required for on-site event support
  • Available to work onsite in Westlake Village, CA office

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in marketing, event management, hospitality management or related field is preferred
  • 8+ years relevant work experience as an events planner or organizer for internal and external events
  • Portfolio of previously managed events
  • Knowledge of marketing techniques for event management
  • Computer savvy; proficient in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, with extensive experience managing multiple marketing projects/tactics and meeting milestone deadlines within complex production schedules
  • Experience working with web-based project/resource management and digital proofing systems
  • Proven track record of successful event budget management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; works well with colleagues, vendors and customers, and approaches tasks with a positive, a customer service attitude
  • Health insurance industry knowledge a plus
  • This is NOT a remote position. Onsite office environment, must be local to Westlake Village, CA office

Compensation

  • Annual Salary Range*: $97,200 - $129,600 per year
  • Actual compensation may vary from posting based on work experience, education and/or skill level.
  • * The hourly or salary range is the range Warner Pacific in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. The Company may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable under the terms and conditions of the applicable policies and plans. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.
