POSITION OBJECTIVE


Esthetician is responsible for, but not limited to performing as trained all spa treatments to guests in a professional manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS


  • Exemplifies Salamander mission statement, Core Values and 5 Star Standards ofExcellence.
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures set forth of Salamander Washington, DC.
  • Reports any incident or accident to the Department Lead, Spa Operations Manager and/or the Director.
  • Understands and uses universal precautions when providing services. Assesses contraindications of guest that may prevent service from taking place.
  • Maintains the highest level of product knowledge and has complete knowledge of all spa services presently offered.
  • Customizes treatments based on present skin condition(s).
  • Recommends products for home use with a minimum service to sales ratio of 20%.
  • Performs all treatments on services’ menu based on current certifications.
  • Suggests to guests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa.
  • Understands the ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to the guests. Answers guest’s questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
  • Begins and ends all treatments on time.
  • Works assigned schedule.
  • Ensures that the work areas are clean and set according to procedures.
  • Informs the Lead Esthetician, Treatment Supervisor, or Spa Director of product needs.
  • Creates and maintains client cards with treatment notes, when appropriate.
  • Completes all assigned side work.
  • Attends all scheduled meetings.
  • Assists in the operations of all spa departments, such as (front desk, spa retail, changing areas, relaxation areas,
  • Attends scheduled professional trainings.
  • Completes other duties assigned by the Spa Director.
  • Keeps work area clean, stocked, and neat at all time
  • Arrive 60 minutes before the start of your shift to allow for sufficient time to prepare for your day.
  • To maintain inventory of supplies for the operations of the treatment rooms
  • Disinfects all equipment on a daily basis.
  • Assists staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain facility and prepare for special events.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE


  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • At least two years of work experience as an Esthetician in a Spa.
  • Must hold an active license as Master Esthetician and/or Esthetician for the District of Columbia.

REQUIREMENTS


  • Customer service experience, preferably in a Spa.
  • Ability to explain various treatments/services to guests.
  • Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
  • Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational.
  • Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Must be comfortable with product recommendation.
  • Previous massage experience preferred.
  • Standing/walking : 6 to 8 hours per day with a 30 minute break
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


  • Must be able to work effectively in a stressful environment, communicate with others, effectively deal with customers and accept constructive criticism from supervisors.
  • Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with interruptions.
  • Normal work hours: Varied to include nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Awareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
