Job Duties:
Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center (WWRC) provides people with disabilities comprehensive, individualized services to realize optimal personal independence and employment. WWRC is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as an ESS Instructor to instruct persons with disabilities in work readiness skills needed to prepare them for occupational training, on-the-job training, post-secondary education, or employment. The incumbent in this position will lead the instructional area, develop, and implement both lesson goals and objectives, evaluates students' progress, and differentiates instruction and initiates intervention strategies for each student. Serves as instructor within the Education Support Services (ESS) training area for the purposes of teaching students the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to access curriculums across multiple training areas.

Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
Knowledge/Experience:
A Collegiate Professional License or Technical Professional License by the Virginia Department of Education (or equivalent issued by another state), with endorsement in Career and Technical Education, Adult Education, or Special Education or must be a able to attain a license within 3 years after hire date.
Knowledge of teaching methods and techniques, special education best
practices, supports Workplace Readiness Behaviors, employment adaptations and accommodations, disability characteristics, and assessment techniques.
Skills/Abilities:
Skilled in instructional design and development, accommodations, differentiation of instruction, supporting Workplace Readiness Behaviors, communication, curriculum implementation, and planning.
Ability to teach students with disabilities, work with others, make decisions, problem solve, work independently, and develop individualized service plans; and to collaborate with ancillary/related services.
Additional Considerations:
Experience working with special education or related field.

The incumbent understands that pre-exposure hepatitis B vaccination is not being provided, but that post-exposure hepatitis B vaccination will be provided, and s/he will complete annual blood borne pathogens training in accordance with OSHA standards.
