Description:
Heartland AEA has an ESL/Diversity Consultant position available for the 2024-25 school year. This position shall assist in the operation and coordination of services for English Language Learners, Cultural Competence, and Equity practices. This includes assistance with the internal and external professional development programs related to supporting English Language Learners and Equity practices by fostering a supportive and productive environment that provides continuous opportunities for professional growth for clients as well as staff. The consultant provides leadership, organization, and coordination in developing, implementing and evaluating services.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have a Masters degree in education (administration, curriculum, English as a Second Language (ESL), etc.), and a minimum of five years teaching experience, which includes experience in the field of ESL, ELL, or Bilingual Education. Candidates must be appropriately licensed by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners, preference given to certifications in ESL, Bilingual Education, or related field. Prefer candidates with background knowledge in the area of cultural competence and equity services.
