Maverick is looking for an ESG Specialist to join their team! In this role, you will be responsible for understanding and applying ESG reporting frameworks, coordinating permitting and compliance with internal clients and environmental specialists and focusing on compliance with the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program. You will serve as the air quality technical expert for the lower 48 assets and will be responsible for ownership of external and internal reporting structures and submittals. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent writing and presentation skills, and a mastery of impactful client communication. You must be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment and have experience working in multi-functional global teams. You should also have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to foster collaborative relationships, influence and build trust in a highly matrixed organizational setting. Travel to the field may be necessary as the job responsibilities dictate, and you must be able to track regulatory changes associated with air quality regulation and advise teams on changing recordkeeping and/or reporting requirements. #LI-Onsite

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining air compliance including NESHAP & NSPS Subparts ZZZZ, JJJJ, OOOO, OOOOa, Triple-K, Kb, W, and state air regulations as they relate to upstream and midstream oil and gas operations
  • Studying and analyzing current and pending Air/water/waste rules in New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, as well as Federal regulations
  • Annual Reporting: Oklahoma SLEIS, NMED Annual Emission Inventories, Flare Reporting, Federal and Internal GHG Reporting
  • Processing air compliance and air permitting New Mexico, Texas, and Oklahoma including Title V facilities
  • Responsible for SPCC plan creation and maintenance
  • Promptly identify and implement all new and amended laws, rules and regulations affecting upstream and midstream businesses.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors in environmental field or equivalent, P.E. certification a plus
  • 2+ years experience in oil and gas environmental compliance or 5+ years in environmental compliance outside of oil of gas
  • Experience working in multi-functional global teams
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of leak detection and repair (LDAR) is a plus
  • Work experience in waste management is a plus
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to disseminate technical information in an accessible manner
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to dissect rules and find the best way to implement federal/state requirements
  • Microsoft Office competency
  • Commercial mindset
  • Self-starter
