Escape Room Game Master

Position Summary:

Cryptiq Escapes is searching for an enthusiastic part-time Escape Room Game Master with good communication and problem-solving skills. As a Game Master, you will help to provide a unique and immersive experience for our customers.

This position is part time. Hours would be as needed Thursday-Friday between 3:30PM and 10:30PM and Saturday-Sunday as needed from 10:30AM to 10:00PM.

Essential Functions:

• Greet escapees in lobby.
• Lead escapees to their Escape Room and give verbal instructions regarding storyline and rules of the escape.
• Answer questions and provide clues to ensure escapees an exciting game experience.
• Meet escapees after game has concluded to talk about their experience and take a group photo.
• Reset game room for next group of escapees in a timely manner.
• Clean and sanitize rooms between each group of escapees.
• Prepare waivers for escapees to sign.
• Book escapes.

• Effective communication: Our main goal at Cryptiq Escapes is to ensure that all customer experiences are exciting, friendly and a time to remember. Good communication skills will go a long way towards creating that experience.
• Attention to detail: Room resets require great focus and the ability to follow directions. Making sure everything is reset perfectly ensures the next group of escapees the desired experience we strive for.
• Ability to think on your feet: Things can change on a dime at Cryptiq Escapes when the bookings are full. Because of this, we want to ensure that our employees are able to identify and solve problems before they impact players.
• Ability to learn quickly: We value people that can pick up our processes quickly and learn on the job. Good listening and comprehension skills are very important.
• Professional punctuality: When there are bookings on the schedule, being on time to get the rooms up and running is of the utmost importance in case something isn't working properly or the escapees show up early.
• Mobility: This job involves lifting objects, getting quickly from room-to-room, and assisting with potential prop maintenance.

Ideal candidate will have :

• A passion for providing an immersive experience: Escape rooms offer customers a chance to escape the real world for a while. We’re looking for people who are just as excited about these escapes and creating the excitement and the environment for the escapees as we are.
• Previous experience in an interactive setting: This is not required, but we’re always looking for people who have worked in haunted houses, theatre, or other settings that immerse the customer inside the adventure.
• A strong work ethic: We're looking for individuals who are able to stay on task by ensuring escapes run smoothly for the escapees and room resets are done correctly every time.
• Having a flexible schedule: Being able to work "on call" hours during the weekend is a must.
