Equity Research Associate/Senior Associate - Healthcare

Our Nashville-based team covers multiple subsectors in healthcare and the life science supply chain, including managed care, contract research organizations, and contract manufacturing organizations.

Responsibilities will include:

• Working underneath publishing analysts to cover healthcare subsectors.
• Building, maintaining, analyzing and forecasting “3-statement” financial models and industry-oriented databases
• Conducting primary research, tracking competitive landscape, analyzing company filings, and attending presentations/webinars
• Closely monitoring healthcare and biopharma industry news and trends
• Identifying, engaging, and speaking with key opinion leaders and industry contacts
• Interfacing with company management teams, internal sales/trading personnel, and institutional investors
• Integrating these research inputs into valuations of covered stocks, using multiple standard valuation approaches
• Bringing the analysis “to life” in written and verbal communication via research reports for initiations of coverage, earnings analysis, data analysis, transaction analysis, and industry/company news
• Conceiving and executing on differentiated project ideas
Identifying and executing corporate access events including company non-deal roadshows, conferences, summits, and expert interactions (some travel may be required)

Summary of Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for stocks and the healthcare industry, advanced Excel and data analysis skills, and clear and concise written/oral communication skills. The candidate should be a fast learner, a self-starter, detail-oriented, and able to learn and work independently with limited direction, while communicating project progress and findings timely and effectively.

This person should like to take on significant responsibility, be able to balance multiple overlapping projects, and manage priorities. With demonstrated competence and accountability, associates on our team should expect to enjoy interesting projects, autonomy in modeling and writing, exposure to sales, institutional investor clients, and top management at companies. The team’s weekly schedule is dependent on particular assignments and quarterly reporting periods, but generally ranges around 60-70 hours per week.

The salary range for this role is $100,000-$165,000.
