Equipment Operators are skilled in running several pieces of machinery for the success of the aggregate extraction process. They are trained associates who report to a supervisor or foreman. Equipment operators are skilled in using various equipment such as drillers, excavators, cranes, and other specialized machinery. Equipment Operators are associates that run several pieces of equipment throughout a shift at a high level of performance. Equipment Operators need little supervision for accomplishing their essential functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
90% of job:
- Operator of specialized equipment.
- Responsible for the safe operations of multiple pieces of specialized equipment.
- Ensuring all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety regulations.
- Cleaning, lubricating, and performing regular safety checks on equipment.
- Ensuring equipment is properly positioned before turning it on and off or loading and unloading it.
- Performing other construction duties as needed.
- Promptly reporting all faults to the Plant Manager or Foreman.
- Ensuring sites are kept clean and safe.
10% of job:
- Participate in meetings and training as directed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school diploma or GED
Certifications:
Work Experience: 2-3+ years of safe equipment operation
Behavioral Competencies:
- Ability to recognize any potential issues with excellent problem-solving skills
- Creative and innovative with strong relationship and team building
- Excellent communicating in writing as well as verbally and Listens Effectively
Technical Competencies:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
- Ability to wear a respirator.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain heavy equipment, stationery and mobile equipment if needed.
ENVIRONMENT OR PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to work under conditions of frequent exposure to dusty conditions and the full range of weather conditions; frequently in, on, and around quarry high walls and pit; extended periods working from elevated positions or in tunnels
Pay Starts at 20.50 an hour
