Summary:

Load, deliver, and installs equipment at customers’ site in a timely and professional manner and in accordance with contract instructions and manufacturer’s recommendations. Maintain customer relationships by providing courteous and effective service. Maintain and report installation deviations in writing to Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Installation

  • Load, deliver and install equipment according to schedule, recording all equipment serial numbers on delivery documents at time of loading and ensuring equipment is loaded properly to prevent damage.
  • Ensure proper installation of all equipment in accordance with contract instructions, manufacturer’s recommendations, and in accordance with all safety regulations.
  • Maintain adequate level of material and tools on hand in vehicle to perform installations effectively.
  • Always maintain rigging equipment in safe operating condition.

Customer Service

  • Ensure good customer relations by dressing appropriately, being respectful, addressing customer’s needs, notifying appropriate person of customer concerns, and performing only the tasks specified on the sales contract unless approval from the supervisor is needed.
  • Ensure timely communication with Manager and Customer when deviation from schedule is necessary or when unforeseen schedule changes are necessary.
  • Address customer concerns in a courteous and effective manner.

Administration

  • Ensure vehicles are driven in a professional manner and in accordance with Company and ICC/DOT policies and all other Federal and State laws.
  • Properly secure loaded equipment on truck so equipment is not damaged during transport.
  • Ensure Company vehicles are maintained and serviced as needed.
  • Provide written report to Supervisor of all installation deviations.
  • Prepare and provide office paperwork in an accurate, timely, and neat manner.
  • Ensure E- mail communications and responses are done in a timely manner.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICC regulations that directly affect installation of equipment.
  • Ensure delivery documents are signed by customers, payments required per contract are received and processed.
  • Submit vacation and other time-off requests for approval at least one week in advance.
  • Be prepared for overnight trip requests as requested.
  • Perform weekend on-call duties as scheduled.
  • Submit timesheets as required following necessary guidelines and procedures.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines when repairing equipment including lock-out-/tag-out notices, hazardous material use, eye protection, safe lifting, electrical wiring safety guidelines, and ventilation guidelines.
  • Adhere to all safe driving guidelines when operating company vehicles including always wearing seatbelts, hand-free use of mobile devices only, adherence to speed limits and other laws.

Physical Demands & Requirements

  • Performing installation, maintenance and repairs requires considerable use of arms and legs and frequent (33-66%) climbing, bending, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, floor vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and carry 100 pounds.
  • Must be able to drive and sit in car for up to three hours at a time.

Work Environment:

Work environments vary depending on job location. Environment may include exposure to dust, heat, dirt, humidity, moving mechanical parts, and other chemicals used in the laundry business. Risk of electrical shock is also present.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 1-3 years of related experience.
  • CDL license or ability to get one.
  • DOT Medical Card and ability to drive Box Truck.
  • Training and education in small engine or appliance repair, recommended but not required.
  • Experience repairing laundry equipment helpful, but not required.
  • Ability to use read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write route reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to customers and employees.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean MVR Record.

Pay Rate: $21-$25
