Form of workFor almost 30 years, Sentinel Offender Services has provided community based, offender-funded monitoring services across North America. Working with law enforcement, community corrections agencies and the court system, we provide customized offender management solutions that help to reduce recidivism and improve reentry success. These solutions combine electronic monitoring technology, alcohol and substance abuse testing and community-based offender management programs.
The Technician provides a service to the contracted Department by handling monitoring equipment installations, orientations, removals and troubleshooting. Duties will also include participant data entry into user interface and communication with Court personnel regarding alerts. In addition, this position requires the cleaning, testing, orders, returns and overall management of equipment and supply inventory.
Job Expectations + Essential Functions
Responsible for participant’s program orientation. Effectively communicates the program rules, regulations and contract requirements of their sentence.
Install, remove, exchange or visually inspect electronic monitoring equipment being used by participant.
Clean and prepare equipment for use.
Enter participant data into monitoring computer application.
Retrieval of monitoring equipment in the field.
Advise Department personnel of participants that are not in compliance with their program requirements.

Education
Other Requirements:
- Experience in criminal justice or related field recommended but not required.
- Must successfully pass criminal background investigation and drug screening

- Professional communication skills to communicate with members of the Department, Judges, employees, and program participants.
- Ability to work in Microsoft Office applications and other windows based programs.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate detailed information.
- Ability to prepare written reports and maintain accurate records
- Strong presentation and persuasive skills
