Equine Caretaker

West Central Veterinary Services in Rockville, Indiana is seeking 3-4 individuals to work in the barns during the 2024 equine breeding season. This job consists of cleaning stalls (34 maximum) and outside runs, feeding and watering horses daily, cleaning clinic and barns, and performing any maintenance required in the barns or on the grounds. This is for the breeding season January-July 1st, but there may be an opportunity to work year round for the right individual(s).

Qualifications:

• Hard-working
• Reliable
• Punctual
• Able to lift at least 50lbs (you will be asked to do this in your interview)
• Prior horse experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities:

• Cleaning stalls
• Feeding and watering horses
• Grounds and barn maintenance/cleaning
• Assisting with handling horses/foals when necessary

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Holidays
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed
