Job Description: - Responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of Epic Cache\Iris databases.
- This is a critical component of our clients electronic medical record platform.
- Participates as part of a team that ensures the stability, integrity, and performance of our Epic Cache\Iris database.
- This is a vital part of our Electronic medical records platform.
- Participates in a collaborative group and shares responsibility for the design, build, testing, implementation, and optimization of this platform.
- Responsible for the operational good maintenance of the Epic database platform, as well as the growth, stability, and security of the platform.
- Oversight and responsibility for infrastructure and upgrade projects on Epic Cache\Iris platform and assist non-infrastructure teams with technical considerations in their projects.
- Monitoring and maintenance of Inter-Systems Cache databases.
- Applying fixes and software updates Planning data centers for high availability and disaster recovery.
- Monitor and proactively address problems and issues.
- Develop and monitor operational processes associated with Epic Cache databases.
- Designs and develops databases and prepares implementation plans for application upgrades and rollout.
- Support and maintains databases for a large-scale health system with ECP and multiple Environments.
- Manages database optimization Participates in training and quality improvement activities.
Education:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent Certifications Epic Operational Database Administration (Cache/Iris`).
Experience:
- 5-10 years experience as an Epic Operational Database Administrator.
- Deep understanding and experience with Epics implementation of Cache/Iris`, and knowledge of Linux/Unix platforms Experience and proficiency with Cache and Chronicles utilities.
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to be on call and work weekends when necessary.
- Occasional out-of-town travel, and variable hours, including nights, evenings, and weekends may be periodically required.
- Expert knowledge of AIX/RedHat Linux is required.
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
- Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
- Strong conflict resolution skills.
- Strong Project Management Skills Preferred Qualifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field Preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience with Inter-Systems Cache` (Epic) in an AIX/Linux Unix-based business-critical environment.
