EO Flatbed CDL Driver

SUMMARY OF JOB

• Drive a Dodge 3500C/5500 pickup truck with a Gooseneck trailer 30ft or 40ft
• Responsible for safely picking up, securing and deliveries of BedRock truck beds as scheduled by BedRock Supervisor
• Follows most efficient route to accomplish all pick up and deliveries in a safe and timely manner
• Maintain all equipment in good and safe working order. Complete comprehensive daily inspections of the vehicle.
• Maintain accurate and timely logs
• Comply with all internal policies and procedures, as well as DOT and any other regulations.
• Take directions from Transportation Manager and Team
• Other duties as assigned which may include assisting Transportation Department when available with HOS or any special assignments as required (yard moves, drop tailers, pick up supplies, vehicle deliveries or pickups from repair facilities)
• When not delivering through the week, some days could be used to run a hotshot, or fill a regular rt if needed (but not usually) or perform other duties at the yard that might come up.

REQUIREMENTS

• Currently possess a CDL A
• DOT Medical Card
• Must have flatbed trailer experience with load securement experience (straps)
• 3 years minimum of flatbed trailer experience
• Strong DOT Hours Of Service knowledge
• Traveling outside of TX is required.
• Able to stay out overnight as needed, usually twice a week. Company covers hotel room, and driver tracks meal reimbursements, which typically gets paid back within 7 business days after turning in.
• Days of delivery, route start time could be as early as 0300/0400am.
• Non-Delivery days, start time is usually 0600.
• Monday – Friday only
• Clean background and clean MVR
• Able to pass a complete DOT Criminal Background Check, Pre-Employment Drug Test and a PHE.

Basic Qualifications (Minimum Required Experience, Education, Knowledge/Skills/Abilities, Essential Physical Demands):

Education & Experience:

· Three years of commercial driving (CMV) and related experience.

· Accredited commercial driving school certificate can be substituted for experience.

· Forklift certified, beneficial.

· Must be fully DOT qualified, possess a valid driver's license with the proper endorsement for driving a commercial vehicle of at least 10,001 lbs or greater, and have an acceptable driving record.

· Must meet the Department of Transportation's testing and physical requirements.

· Must be at least 21 years of age or meet the state minimum age requirement to operate a commercial vehicle.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

·       Ability to use ELD program

·       Comply with DOT hours of service

·       Maintain safe driving record in compliance with company handbook

·       Must be able to work at night. Good night vision

·       Ability to exercise good judgement in adverse weather conditions or emergency situations

·       Ability to read, write, understand verbally communicate and give and follow directions in English

·       Maintain class A CDL

·       Must know specs of his vehicle for safe operations.

·       Complete all necessary paperwork and communicate with Office and Transportation Manager as necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· This position requires individuals to occasionally be on their feet except when operating machinery, or Company vehicle.

· Should not have any lifting restrictions and must not be afraid of heights.

· They must be able to stand for long periods, sit, walk, push, pull, bend, climb and be able to move/lift up to 75 pounds regularly.

· They must be able to climb ladders, stairs and withstand heights of more than 15 feet.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, as well as an office environment.

· Should be able to tolerate high and low temperature levels, and occasional inclement driving conditions.

· The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat.

· The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.

Preferred Qualifications:

· High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent preferred. Some college coursework is desired.

• Ensure truck is always operated in a safe manner
• Ensure safety of loading and unloading truck
• Verifies condition of truck, assess for any needed repairs
