Job Summary
The Environmental Services (EVS) Lead oversees and ensures that building(s) is maintained in a safe, clean, and operationally effective condition. Under the direction of the Facilities and Safety Manager, this position is responsible for providing guidance to the Environmental Services staff, to ensure that cleaning performance and environmental project work is completed timely and efficiently. The EVS Lead will ensure that all areas are maintained clean, safe and in sanitary condition, while supporting and displaying the company's core values daily.
Essential Job Functions:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Adhere to the company policy on confidentiality as well as adhere to all program policies and procedures.
• Ensures that cleaning procedures for patient care areas, such as but not limited to, medical equipment, medical furniture, spills
of blood and body substances are obeyed and followed.
• The EVS Lead will act as a liaison between Facilities and Safety Manager and the Environmental Services staff.
• Liaison responsibilities will include reporting employee related issues or performance to the department manager, or director,
as appropriate.
• Leads staff concerning specific areas of responsibility which include quality standards, department policies and procedures, and
service levels.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as it relates to Environmental Services standards.
• Assists with interviews and selects Environmental Services personnel.
• Assists with annual performance assessment process.
• Maintains and adheres to Environmental Services departmental policies/procedures relative to OSHA, DHS, CDPH, and other
governing agency regulations and standards.
• Coordinates, schedules, oversees, and conducts employee training/development necessary to meet established performance
standards, teamwork, and service criteria.
• Performs area inspections with assigned Environmental Services personnel, to evaluate/monitor performance, customer
satisfaction, and infection prevention program compliance.
• Ensures general inspections are completed daily and formal inspections are completed monthly in all building areas.
• Identifies and recommends opportunities to increase service levels.
• Manages and maintains inventory supplies with established PAR levels
• Ensures all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards.
• Handles reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience.
• Understands and locates the SDS (Safety Data Sheets) in the facility. Understanding of how to read these documents and
adhere to their safety guidelines when handling cleaning products.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings, trainings, in-services, projects, and committees as assigned.
• Adheres to and supports the center's practices, procedures, and policies including assigned break times and attendance.

• Ability to access all areas of the center throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift to 35 pounds occasionally, 15 pounds frequently, and 7 pounds constantly; required to obtain assistance of another
qualified employee when attempting to lift or transfer objects over 25 pounds.
• Requires constant hand grasp and finger dexterity; frequent standing, walking and repetitive leg and arm movements, bending,
reaching forward and overhead; squatting and kneeling.
• Work is generally performed in an indoor, well-lighted, well-ventilated, heated, and air- conditioner environment.
Experience
• Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population.
• Minimum of three (3) year experience in Environmental Services preferred.
Education and Certification
• High School Graduate or completion of a GED program preferred
• Is medically cleared for communicable diseases and has all immunizations up to date before engaging in direct participant

Salary Description
$18.50 - $21.00
