By joining the Division of Water as an Environmental Scientist 1 in Perry county, you will have the opportunity to work closely with an experienced technical assistant to bring expertise and assistance to public water systems in order to enable them to improve the quality of drinking water delivered to the citizens of the Commonwealth.
Holders of the Environmental Scientist 1 position will complete tasks such as:
- Providing assistance to public water systems in maintaining compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act, specifically with the implementation of the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions and Improvements.
- Interpret and assist water systems in utilizing data to improve the quality of their services.
- Participate in special studies at drinking water facilities with operators.
- Collect drinking water samples and provide reports to assist with assessing issues and improving processes at water plants.
- Provide training to public water system personnel.
- Sample collection.
- How to conduct special studies.
- How to interpret sample results.
- How to optimize processes.
- Friendly, good communicator with attention to detail.
- Ability to work as a team.
