ABOUT THE JOB

Tepa Companies is seeking an Environmental Remediation Engineer to support multi-year Environmental Remediation projects for various federal agencies. Remediation engineering expertise will be applied to the investigation/characterization, remedial design, remedy implementation/construction, operations and maintenance and/or long-term monitoring phases of the CERCLA, RCRA Corrective Action and/or state regulatory program processes.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Engineering support to Environmental Remediation projects.
  • Preparation of planning documents, designs, reports and as-builts.
  • Remedial alternative evaluation and design of various in-situ and ex-situ treatment approaches.
  • Prepare design calculations, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Preparation of subcontractor scopes of work and specifications.
  • Solicitation, evaluation, and procurement of subcontractors for investigation or remediation projects.
  • Lead or support in-house field teams conducting remediation activities.
  • Oversight of subcontractors conducting remediation activities.
  • Ability to support multiple projects and tasks concurrently, while adhering to cost and schedule.
  • Support proposal efforts.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (a master’s degree is preferred).
  • Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license within 2 years.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Environmental Remediation experience providing engineering support to projects under CERCLA, RCRA Corrective Action and/or state regulatory programs.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills, including the ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and keep organized to ensure timely and accurate work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and individually.
  • Strong self-motivation and initiative.
  • Experience and/or familiarity with the following Environmental Remediation practice areas:
  • Treatment technologies for a variety of contaminants to include in-situ aerobic and anaerobic enhanced bioremediation, in-situ chemical oxidation, ex-situ treatment systems (e.g., pump and treat, air sparge, SVE, etc.) and remedial excavations.
  • Identification, selection and design of remedial technologies and approaches.
  • Remedial alternative cost estimate development.
  • Remedy implementation oversight.
  • Operations and maintenance and performance monitoring evaluation and optimization.
  • Investigation and/or remediation of PFAS impacted sites.
  • Various multi-media investigative techniques to include high resolution site characterization (HRSC).
  • Screening levels and the risk assessment process.
