Position: Environmental Planner/NEPA Specialist

Job Type: Full Time

Location: Georgia

Job Description:

Lumenor Consulting Group is looking for a motivated Environmental Analyst to join our growing Environmental team. Preferred candidate would have demonstrated experience working with state DOT’s or other agencies related to infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate for this position is an enthusiastic environmental consulting professional with the desire to foster technical excellence, the ability to provide day to day project support and the desire to support a growing NEPA team. This candidate will be an integral part of our growth strategy and must be willing to perform work on site as an extension of staff at a major state agency as well as conduct fieldwork on occasion.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead or assist in the completion of documentation and technical aspects of NEPA/GEPA or other state environmental processes
  • Perform duties as an extension of staff at a major state agency in the NEPA department
  • Provide quality reviews of reports prepared by others
  • Assist in the development of scopes and budgets for environmental tasks
  • Data entry and tracking of project statuses and schedules from concept development through agency clearance
  • Manage/adhere to field safety efforts
  • Adhere to established quality program for project deliverables
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in relevant field (environmental sciences, natural sciences, public policy, urban geography, ecology, history, or other relevant field)
  • 3+ years’ experience relevant professional experience
  • Knowledge of NEPA process for federal aid projects
  • Strong technical and scientific writing skills with experience preparing environmental reports
  • Experience with public involvement and engagement
  • Strong organizational skills and focus on attention to detail

Preferred Skills:

  • Linear transportation or infrastructure experience – DOT experience
  • GIS experience
  • Experience completing sections of or entire NEPA documentation
  • Environmental Justice analysis experience
  • Experience in meeting with and conducting consultations with federal and state agencies
  • Ability to understand and interpret preliminary and final roadway or construction plans
  • Communicates effectively with clients and fosters a positive working relationship with the client
