Job Duties
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with Federal, State and local regulations related to hazardous materials.
  • Developing and maintaining management information systems which identify the location of hazardous materials in all facilities.
  • Investigating employee complaints concerning exposure to hazardous materials or air pollutants.
  • Responsibilities also includes Coordinates investigations when unsafe acts or incidents occur. Assist in the development of environmental safety programs.
  • Develop safety programs to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
  • Enforcing environmental safety regulations. Conducts environmental safety inspection of facilities.
  • Serves on safety committees; reviews and provides recommendation for implementing best practices.
  • Responsible for reviewing MSDS and SPCC plans as needed.
  • Assists in the development of their annual EHS budget; actively manages and monitors performance to EHS budget
  • Provides advice in the development, planning and implementation of environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs for the entire campus.

Requested Minimum Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree in EHS management, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or closely related technical discipline

Experience:
  • 5 years of relevant experience in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • OSHA-10 training
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), DOT (Department of Transportation), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) governmental regulations and laws
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel in professional capacity
  • Strong understanding and experience in EHS Management Systems and their successful implementation
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to critically interpret and use data to manage risk
  • Strategic thinker with creative and excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Valid US driver's license
