We are excited to be adding a EHS Manager to the MAC Trailer Team. Our EHS Manager reviews, evaluates, and analyze work environments and design programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and/ or ergonomic factors. Enforces the adherence to laws, regulations, policies, and procedures governing the health and safety of employees, customers and the citizens and the communities in which we do business.

What you will do:

  • Plan, manage, and direct occupational safety and health, environmental compliance, industrial hygiene and risk management for the organization, with full responsibility in terms of policy adherence, costs, regulatory compliance, personnel and quantity of work.
  • Coordinate with employees and all and Site management to ensure that all potential hazards and issues are identified and that appropriate preventative measures are put into place.
  • Conducting and coordinating appropriate training in order to meet company and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting and directing inspections, audits and incident investigations identifying systemic issues and then recommending program improvements.
  • Establishing necessary procedures and work practices as multi layered defenses against human error in order to minimize the occurrence and severity of workplace incidents.
  • Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Oversee all EHS compliance and training programs including those required by OSHA, EPA, DHS and DOT, waste water and hazardous waste management, Lock- out Tag - Out, Confined Space Entry, Used Oil, Storm Water programs and all other required policies/programs associated with environmental, health, and safety.
  • Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.
  • Prepares studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.
  • Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
  • Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
  • Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Assists with the investigation of injuries relating to Workers Compensation claims.
  • Ensuring that employees are adhering to work restrictions once returning to work.
  • Prepares and arranges safety exhibits and material for display, promotional work, industry conferences, and exhibitions.
  • Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs. Maintains safety files and records.
  • Other job duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Basic skills needed.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)OSHA trainer qualification preferred
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certifications are a plus

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to walk.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
