We are looking for a seasoned Health and Safety Engineer to ensure compliance with Federal, State, Local, and Internal regulations and provides guidance to associates in regards to International Standards (ISO-14001, 45001).

Responsibilities:

• Develop & provide EHS related training

• Investigate EHS related accidents and near-misses, implement corrective actions, track corrective actions to closure

• Recommend processes and Safety features that will reduce employees’ exposure to chemical, physical and biological hazards

• Inspect facilities, machinery and Safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards

• Maintain current knowledge of regulatory change affecting the EHS discipline

• Maintain records in accordance with internal and external requirements, including but not limited to OSHA and Internal metrics

• Assist in development of EHS policies and procedures

• Assist in the management of worker’s compensation

• Manage the ISO 14001 & 45001 Programs to ensure compliance to the standards

• Conduct EHS audits, implement corrective actions, track corrective actions to closure

• Conduct Job Hazard Analysis’

• Responsible for First Responder Program

• Lead the implementation of site wide EHS initiatives

• Responsible for approving new chemicals and maintaining Safety Data Sheet Database

• Coordinate emergency drills

• Be an agent of change and promote a strong safety culture

• Assist in monitoring the activities of on-site vendors/contractors to ensure compliance

• Complies, generates and file annual regulatory reporting as assigned

• Leading safety and health related projects as assigned

• Manage the contractor safety program and ensure contractor training is provided

• Support Leadership in completion of 8D’s, accident investigations, and implementation of Controls to reduce Risk.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

• Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.

• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in similar position.

• Ability to respond in emergency situations calmly with authority

• Must be able to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• Strong written and verbal and presentation communication skills.

• Independent decision-making skills

• Ability to be effective and diplomatic in working with people across all organizational levels

• Technical writing skills preferred.
