OnsiteThe selected candidate will have an opportunity to be part of a large Environment, Health & Safety organization in the role of an Environmental Compliance Principal Specialist (P3) in Tucson, Arizona. The selected candidate must be an energetic self-starter who is able to work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience with strength in developing and operating Environmental Compliance programs, driving sustainability initiatives, and achieving continuous improvement. The candidate should also demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to positively influence internal and external groups of colleagues including but not limited to engineers, project managers, maintenance technicians, factory line employees, management, etc.
The Environmental Compliance discipline:
- oversees programs related to air, water, waste, hazardous materials transportation, environmental remediation, and engineering practices.
- Maintains EH&S Management System Conformance.
- Achieves and maintains consistency of EH&S record keeping and documentation with organizational and regulatory policy.
- Prepares and manages documentation relating to environmental policies in preparation for both internal and external audit.
- Provides proper documentation in preparation for permit applications and liaising with governmental bodies.
Under the direction of the Environmental Compliance & Sustainability Manager, this role will implement and oversee programs including, but not limited to:
Air Quality
Refrigerant Management / Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA)
Pollution Prevention (P2)
Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) chemical import and export
Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA)
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
Endangered Species Act (ESA) / biological resources
Department of Defense / Air Force Environmental Requirements
Provide support for other Environmental Compliance programs such as Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and Clean Water Act (CWA)
Provide support for other Tucson EH&S programs such as Safety and Industrial Hygiene
Monitor, administer, evaluate, and coordinate EH&S programs to ensure Environmental Compliance and alignment with sustainability goals
Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with EH&S programs
Advise Facilities project managers on environmental diligence and permitting obligations, and provide compliance support throughout site infrastructure changes/ construction
Achieve and maintain EH&S record keeping and documentation consistent with organizational and regulatory policy to stay audit ready
Contribute to the development and implementation of EH&S strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement
May require occasional travel to support Enterprise and Raytheon initiatives
Basic Required Qualifications:
- Typically requires: An applicable Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) University Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years’ relevant experience in EH&S with focused experience supporting Environmental Compliance programs, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience in environment, health and safety with focused experience supporting Environmental Compliance programs.
- Requires computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Secret level or higher security clearance
- Training Certifications – RCRA, DOT Hazmat, HAZWOPER, ISO 14001, EPA Method 9 Visible Emissions, etc.
- Knowledge and experience in the application of federal, state, and local regulations
- Ability to accurately diagnose general and complex EH&S issues related to Raytheon operations, determine appropriate controls, and implement practical and effective solutions in a timely manner

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
