What Will You Do?
As an Environmental Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting onsite inspections at waste transfer sites, operating and closed landfills. Your keen eye for detail will ensure that all locations maintain strict compliance with multiple regulatory permits. You will actively participate in stormwater, wastewater, and landfill gas sampling, gathering vital data to support environmental initiatives.

About the Division
WASTE MANAGEMENT: The Division of Waste Management oversees the management of solid recycling and solid waste in Lane County. The Division's mission is to provide, safe, responsible and economical recycling and disposal services, while respecting the environment and the communities it serves.
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 40 hours a week - Flexible days/hours upon approval

Training:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in environmental, chemical, or physical sciences. Training in analytical sampling protocol, the use of various sampling equipment and devices; and sufficient experience as necessitated by the competency level of the position.
Experience:
- Journey Level (N4304): 2-5 years of progressively responsible professional experience
Preferred Experience:
- Progressively responsible experience in Environmental Compliance.
- Sampling and reporting associated with 1200Z stormwater permits.
- Industrial waste water, air and or gas sampling experience.
- Familiarity of the workings of a solid waste info structure.
- Experience interpreting rules, regulations, laws, permit conditions and procedures.
Licensing Requirements:
- Valid Oregon Driver's License
