Position: Environmental Compliance Manager

Job Description:
With minimal supervision, the Environmental Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring Environmental Compliance throughout the lifecycle of construction projects related to transportation infrastructure. This role involves developing and implementing environmental management plans, conducting audits, and working closely with project teams to minimize environmental impact and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Stay current with local, state, and federal environmental laws and regulations relevant to transportation projects.
- Ensure project compliance with all environmental permits and approvals.
- Conduct regular Environmental Compliance audits during different phases of construction.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with established environmental management plans and the developer contract.
- Develop emergency response plans for environmental incidents, such as spills or releases and coordinate response activities.
- Maintain accurate records of Environmental Compliance activities.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies as per project requirements.
- Foster a culture of environmental responsibility among project personnel.
- Ability to conduct audits and field inspections to ensure compliance.
- Experience implementing a CEEP with an environmental mitigation plan and personal protection training.
- Requires full-time, in-person presence at the project field office near Atlanta, Georgia.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- 4-year degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Environmental Design Arts, or related field.
- 5+ years of related work experience, specifically in analyzing environmental situations; 3 years of progressive transportation experience.
- Experience with NPDES and environmental permitting requirements.
- GSWCC Level II Plan Reviewer – Erosion Control Inspection.
- Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications related to road and bridge construction.
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
- Must be licensed to operate motor vehicles in accordance with Georgia law.
