Job Description
The Environmental and ESG Engineer is responsible for driving environmental sustainability and ESG initiatives within our organization. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring implementation & compliance with ISO 14000 standards, improving environmental performance, and advancing our ESG goals, ultimately contributing to our corporate responsibility and sustainability efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
ISO 14000 Compliance:
1. Develop and maintain systems and processes to obtain and ensure compliance with ISO 14000 standards.
2. Conduct regular environmental audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) related to environmental performance.
4. Monitor changes in environmental regulations and ensure timely updates to company practices.
ESG Initiatives:
5. Lead the development and execution of the organization's ESG strategy and programs.
6. Collect, analyze, and report ESG data and performance metrics.
7. Engage with stakeholders to communicate the company's ESG efforts and achievements.
8. Collaborate with internal teams to integrate ESG considerations into decision-making processes.
Sustainability Projects:
9. Identify and drive sustainability projects that align with the company's ESG goals, such as energy efficiency improvements, waste reduction, and social responsibility initiatives.
10. Manage and oversee environmental impact assessments for new projects and products.
11. Recommend and implement sustainable practices and technologies to reduce the organization's carbon footprint.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
12. Analyze Environmental and ESG data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
13. Prepare and deliver regular reports to senior management and external stakeholders on Environmental and ESG performance.
Stakeholder Engagement:
14. Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including investors, customers, and regulatory bodies, to promote ESG initiatives and transparency.
Requirements:Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
- Proven experience in environmental management, ISO 14000 compliance, and ESG initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and ESG reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB).
- Excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Sustainability certifications (e.g., CSR, GRI) are a plus.
Experience: Typically, candidates for this role have 3-5+ years of experience in Environmental and sustainability roles, with a focus on ISO 14000 compliance and ESG initiatives.
Physical: • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time • Ability to infrequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
