Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking to find an Environmental Affairs Technician for a client in Portland, who specializes in creating parts and components for many leading global industrial companies
SHIFT AND WAGE:
7:30 or 8:00 am – 4:00 or 4:30 pm.
Starting salary is $55K - $65K
QUICK BREAKDOWN:
To plan, schedule and perform a wide variety of procedures, processes, data collection efforts or experiments to validate and/or test processes.
To collect data and to develop, manipulate, maintain and report on a variety of information.
Utilize research to prepare technical documents and reports to various licensing and permitting authorities.
Identify, develop and provide solutions to complex problems in areas of major environmental concern and to carry out projects independently.
Principal Accountabilities:
Design, develop and implement processes, procedures and policies impacting the company's environmental issues.
Identify and respond to needs for documentation and reporting by collecting, manipulating, reporting data, updating and distributing Division documents and records required by government regulation to the environment.
Manage communication, correspondence, reports, procedures, and training materials for department and develop systems to retrieve and assemble information from other departments for reports and research.
Collect and submit environmental samples for analysis and/or perform and record sampling data for self and others in the department or performing testing for environmental purposes.
Create, integrate and manage departmental data management systems.
Audit compliance of waste management program. Document and prepare required reports.
Support other team members through the application of technical and computer skills to their research, documentation and training efforts.
Qualifications:
4-5 years prior relevant experience in Technical, Environmental or Computer analysis work or equivalent training and experience. A minimum of one year of college level Mathematics, Physical or Biological Sciences (Chemistry, Physics or Health Sciences) if substituting experience for education is preferred.
Considerable knowledge of and familiarity with basic computer and/or environmental theory, techniques and principles.
Demonstrated knowledge of terminology and concepts in at least one of the following areas: Health Physics, Radiology, Hazardous Materials and Waste Management is highly desirable.
