Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct accurate preparation and concentration of environmental samples, such as soil and water, for VOC analysis.
- Strictly adhere to published methodologies and established laboratory procedures for VOC analysis.
- Use techniques such as Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) and related analytical methods.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all preparatory and analytical procedures in accordance with standard requirements.
- Work within established quality control parameters and consistently meet specified turnaround times for sample analysis.
- Assist in the calibration and maintenance of analytical instrumentation specific to VOC analysis.
- Uphold safe laboratory practices, ensuring a clean and orderly work environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline. Relevant laboratory experience in VOC analysis is highly advantageous.
- Ability to interpret data, identify discrepancies, and suggest corrective actions.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in Windows-based software and familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and as part of a collaborative team.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods during sample preparation and analysis.
- Manual dexterity for precise handling of samples and laboratory instruments.
- Visual acuity for detailed analytical tasks.
- Clear speech and hearing for effective communication within the laboratory environment.
- Candidates are required to undergo training in specific SOPs related to VOC analysis.
- A strong commitment to safety protocols is essential.
- Flexibility to adapt to varying workloads and project requirements.
