Starting salary range: $52,000 - $55,000
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist with expertise in managing payroll functions along with accounts payable and administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong numerical skills, a meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with professionalism. This role requires a thorough understanding of payroll procedures, tax regulations, and accounts payable processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for employees accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Calculate wages, deductions, and overtime accurately based on timecards, attendance records, and other relevant data.
- Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and management, providing assistance and resolving issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations related to payroll processing.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax payments, including federal and state withholding taxes, social security, and Medicare.
- Administer employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other deductions, ensuring accurate deductions and contributions.
- Manage accounts payable functions, including processing invoices, verifying accuracy, and obtaining necessary approvals.
- Prepare and process payments to vendors and suppliers accurately and on time.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of payroll transactions, including wages, benefits, and deductions.
- Generate payroll reports for management review and financial reporting purposes.
- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support as required.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to payroll processing and accounts payable.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for payroll and accounts payable transactions, maintaining confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
2. Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist with exposure to accounts payable functions.
3. Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and accounting principles.
4. Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
5. Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
7. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
8. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
