Position Summary
This position will offer financial advice and assistance to patients regarding medical bills. They are the liaison between patients and their insurance companies; often coordinating payments and answering questions from both parties. Their job is to handle financial obligations so that patients and physicians can focus on healthcare.
- Manage inbound customer communications
- Answer incoming calls and emails to address customer questions, requests, and issues.
- Advise patient of balances
- Ensure the information given to the patient is accurate and up to date.
- Support CBO reps- Printing, scanning, copying and other office duties as needed
- Process customer payments.
- Sorting and sending mail
- Updating and maintaining various spreadsheets
- Negotiate and strategize patient payment arrangements
- Obtain referrals from Primary Care Physicians
- Review and process patient and insurance company forms
- Attending and participating in meetings, training, and presentations.
- Collecting estimated liabilities from patients.
- Establishing health insurance benefits, conditions, and requirements by making phone inquiries, and by using eligibility systems and the internet.
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent..
- Some knowledge of medical terminology, billing practices, and coding.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Some experience with MS Office Suites.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Outstanding people skills.
- Able to work independently once trained
- Bilingual Preferred but not required– English/ Spanish
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel)
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work

- Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic) Typical schedule is Monday through Friday with regular working hours; travel to clinics may be required.
