The Tetra Tech Denver Office consists of a 50-person collaboration of dedicated, talented and passionate colleagues with a keen interest in serving the Colorado water sector. Your Role:
We are currently expanding our successful team in our Denver, Colorado market. There is an immediate need for an entry-level Geological or Geotechnical Engineer to work with our multi-discipline teams to develop and support project activities through the application of engineering and geologic principles and techniques. This position will provide engineering and construction-related planning, design, analysis, oversight, and studies for dams and water resource projects. Critical thinking skills are required to solve technical issues and develop project-specific solutions. This position will serve as a technical specialist supporting both project and pursuit teams. The position will require travel to project sites; work flexibility (hours and location) is possible.
This position affords an excellent opportunity for a notable engineering career with a high energy and fast paced team. You will learn valuable skills in client communication, project management and technical analyses on diverse dam and water resource projects.
Qualifications

  • B.S. Civil or Geological Engineering or a related field; M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering preferred
  • Engineer In Training (EIT) certification required
  • Minimum of 1 year of directly relevant experience
  • Experience and competency with AutoCAD, GIS is required
  • Knowledge of geotechnical software modeling (Geostudio, Rocscience, gINT); competency preferred;
  • Education and work experience should be related to geotechnical or geological engineering: oversight of geotechnical exploration programs, performance of seepage and stability analyses, preparation of geotechnical investigations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to summarize scientific data and model outputs in concise, readable language
  • An ability to formulate and solve problems related to geotechnical or geological engineering
  • Ability to perform field data collection and construction oversight
  • Strong skills and proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft-based software, including MS Excel, for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with elements of capital improvement projects process including engineering analysis, regulatory requirements and permitting, development of construction documents (plans and specifications), cost estimating, and construction administration and observation.

The successful candidate must be able to engender confidence with all project stakeholders. It is important for the individual to be comfortable and confident while meeting with clients. Must have high integrity and accountability. Strong problem solving, time management, and written and verbal communication skills are required, with a demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and multi-disciplinary team under tight deadlines. The position will require some travel, typically related to field and construction phase services, client workshops/meetings and site reconnaissance.
Salary Range for Engineer 1 in Denver, CO: $65,000 - $77,000, depending on education, experience, skills and location.
