We are looking for an agile scrum Product Owner to partner with our VIU by HUB business and technology teams through its exciting next growth phase. This Technical Product Owner role will be charged with leading a specific agile squad focused on defining and developing capabilities for VIU internal and external customers with our Enterprise Technology platforms (ie -Dynamics 365 CRM, Data Integrations, Omni-Channel Contact Center Platform, etc.). This role will create strong partnerships with the Technical Product Owner, Product Design, Application and Enterprise Development teams, internal Business Partner Management, Sales Enablement, and PMO functions to create new and improved capabilities for VIU. You will bring a track record of success in building and delivering products and services that enable and leverage enterprise capabilities internal and external customers love. This role will be empowered to drive personal lines and small commercial insurance product growth by assisting in building a 21st-century digital brokerage with a passionate focus on providing protective solutions for both consumers and small business owners.

In This Role, You'll Get To

  • Collaborate with the senior Solutions and Product Management teams, the internal product and enterprise technology development teams, and our Agile scrum squads to translate business roadmaps and capabilities into tangible technical implementations
  • Serve as the product evangelist and subject matter expert to the technical/developer community within specific agile scrum squads
  • Drive communication and vision between the business, enterprise technology, product development, platform, data, and operations teams
  • Uncover and understand internal and external customer needs and translate them into requirements for future sprints
  • Iterate on the existing effectiveness of the organization, making the hard decisions to enable our team to capitalize on opportunities to impact our customer experience positively
  • Understand upcoming technology trends and how they impact the VIU by HUB Roadmap
  • Follow competitors and conduct capability analysis regularly
  • Assess and address technical risks related to the Enterprise and VIU platforms
  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper Technical Product documentation with the teams

We Are Looking for Someone Who Has the Following Competencies
  • Strong vision and background in digital Technical Product capability that leverages existing enterprise technology platforms and market insights in the Business-to-Consumer and Business-to-Business-to-Consumer space
  • Ability to harness cross-industry knowledge of leading-edge Technical Product capabilities and translate that into the vision for the team
  • Strong inter-team collaboration between various technical, business, marketing, and IT teams
  • Ability to operate and lead Technical Product vision in a dedicated Agile Scrum process and squads
  • Ability to drive continued innovation in thinking, requirements, and delivered capabilities
  • An inspirational, collaborative mindset with demonstrated success in building products and capabilities that customers love
  • A track record of product-driven growth fueled by a great end to end internal and eternal customer experience
  • Ability to set product and technology vision for the squad and own the outcome

Department: CTO Organization
Required Experience: At least 10 years of technical and/or product development with minimum 3-5 years in a software Product Owner role (or a product manager or technical manager with hands on experience managing backlogs and collaborating with developers and enterprise technology teams).
  • Experience building and managing high engagement digital consumer products and features on a flexible, services-based and omni-channel platforms is a plus (i.e. mobile, APIs).
  • Managed product backlog and story refinement meetings
  • Prioritized the implementation of new features to maximize business value and set specific release timelines
  • Experienced with development and project management tools like Jira and Confluence
  • Ability to build relationship with internal and external customers and users to determine requirements and priorities and validate output of development team sprints
  • Attention to detail and deadline-focused
  • Familiarity and experience with Dynamics 365 CRM, Omni-Channel Contact Center, etc. platforms interacting with a Digital Product is a big plus
  • Strong user and stakeholder focus, excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communicator, comfortable having product and technical discussions with both internal and external developers and UX teams
  • Experience in team environments, working in Agile teams of developers, quality engineers, and project managers
  • Ability to facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders

Required Travel: Up to 15% as needed
Required Education: Bachelors degree, Masters degree a plus
Disclosure required under applicable municipal regulations in NY and NJ, as well as the law in Colorado: The expected salary range for this position is $125K to $145K and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
